Vero Beach takes Third Place at Regionals

The Vero Beach High School Girl's Golf Team finished third in the 2011 FHSAA Regional Golf Championship at Magnolia Plantation Country Club in Lake Mary, Florida.

Kendall Hedgecock led the Lady Indians with an 81, the fifth lowest over-all score, and good-enough to qualify her for the FHSAA State Championship Tournament at Mission Inn Resort and Country Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. Kendall will compete in the two-day, 36-hole event on Tuesday, November 2nd and Wednesday November 3rd.

The team was represented in Lake Mary by Brittany Soucek, 96, Jackie Steil 98, Annabelle Campbell 99, Megan Thomas 106 and Cassidy Stepanek. The team finished with an 11-2 record and a District Runner-up Title. Congratulations Girls! And, GO KENDALL !

Vero Beach High School earns a District Runner-Up Title

Vero Beach High School earns a District Runner-Up Title in Girls Golf at Sailfish Point Country Club under inclement weather conditions. The deluge did not stop the Lady Indian Golfers from making a run a the District Championship. Kendall Hedgecock led Vero Beach with a 53 (11 holes) followed by Annabelle Campbell at 55. Megan Thomas, who played out of the fifth position, posted a 63, the third best score for Vero Beach. Jackie Steil was one stroke behind at 64. Brittany Soucek posted a 73.

Vero Beach earns its 11th win of the 2011 Season!

The Fighting Indian Lady Golfers celebrated Senior Match Day at Vero Beach Country Club and earned their eleventh victory of the year. Nicolette Boros, Annabelle Campbell, and Kendall Hedgecock were recognized for their contributions and commitment. All three young ladies have played four years of golf for Vero Beach High School.

Vero Beach Wins Tri-Match at the Moorings

The Vero Beach Girl’s golf team defeated St. Edwards and Okeechobee in a wet and very windy tri-match at The Moorings Golf Club on Thursday. Annabelle Campbell posted a 36, Kendall Hedgecock, 38, Jackie Steil, 38 and Brittany Soucek a 39. The girls’ record currently stands at 10-2.

Vero Beach defeats Jensen Beach in Girls Golf. Jensen was undefeated entering today's match. Megan Thomas playing out of the 6th position posted a 46. Annabelle Campbell likes playing Jensen at Vero Beach CC. Last year her 38 was instrumental in the team's win and today's 39 was huge. Freshman Jackie Steil's 42 tied her season best score and was also key in today's team total 171. Kendall Hedgecock, the birthday girl, played solid and posted a 44.

Annabelle Campbell and Kendall Hedgecock led the Fighting Indians with a pair of 38's at the PGA Ryder course on Wednesday. Brittany Soucek posted a 45 and Jackie Steil a 48 for a team total of 169.

Vero Beach High School Girl's Golf defeated Sebastian River at Sebastian Municipal Golf Course on Tuesday. Kendall Hedgecock posted a 1-over par, 37, to lead the Lady Indians.

Inclement Weather Wins this week

Inclement weather forced cancellation of Wednesday's match with Lincoln Park Academy. The weather won again today as severe weather moved in while Vero Beach, St. Edwards and John Carroll were playing. Brittany Soucek playing in the number one spot was able to complete four holes while most other groups only completed two or three holes.

Tryouts Second Round Results

Occasional rain bands and gusty winds provided a challenging day on the links. The lightning detection alarm ended the round after most golfers had completed 5 holes and three had finished the Par 3 number 6 hole where Brittany Soucek's tee-shot almost rolled in for a hole-in-one. Brittany tapped-in from two inches for the only birdie of the day. Kendall Hedgecock was even through the first four holes.

The Second Round will be completed on Tuesday afternoon.

WELCOME BACK ! Our 2011 Golf Season has arrived. First Team Practice is on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at 3 pm. A Mandatory Player Meeting will be held at Vero Beach Country Club. Two Clinics are scheduled and an open practice will follow. Follow the Golf Calendar located on this page to review ALL practices, matches and TRYOUTS. Please note that Saturday, August 27th is an 18-hole round for FINAL team selection.

Vero Beach Wins Tri-Match in Regular Season Finale

The Vero Beach Lady Golfers won a Tri-Match in their Regular Season finale at Hammock Creek Country Club in Palm City. Vero Beach posted a 178 Team score to defeat Martin County 192 and South Fork 246. Vero Beach finishes the season with an 11-3 record. Individual scores: Kendall Hedgecock 39 Olivia Atwell 43 Brittany Soucek 47 Nicolette Boros 49 Megan Thomas 50 and Marilyn Moore 57. A season low score was posted by Boros and Thomas. Hedgecock and Soucek tied their season low scores.

Vero Beach defeats Martin County

Vero Beach defeats Martin County 176 to 220 at Martin County Golf and Country Club. Annabelle Campbell led the Fighting Indians with a 40. Brittany Soucek shot a season low 47, as did Megan Thomas with a 50 and Nicolette Boros with a 52.

Vero Beach defeats Sebastian River

Two season low scores help Vero Beach defeat Sebastian River at Sebastian. Kendall Hedgecock posted a season low 39 today to lead the Fighting Indian Lady Golfers past Sebastian River. Olivia Atwell shot a 44 followed by Brittany Soucek's season low 48. It was Brittany's first round under 50! Megan Thomas posted a 53 to give Vero a 184 Team Score. Nicolette Boros posted a 56. Vero Beach improves to 8-3-0.

Final Qualifier Round Scores

Five Golfers competed for two spots for the last three matches of the season. Their scores: Nicolette Boros 56, Megan Thomas 58, Peyton Grinstead 63, Marilyn Moore 64 and Morgan Kelly 72. District Tournament is on October 18th at Martin County.

Vero Beach Splits Matches with Jensen Beach

On Monday, Vero's 188 team score was 27 shots more than the Jensen Beach's 161. Annabelle Campbell came in with the low score for the Fighting Indians at 44. Olivia Atwell and Kendall Hedgecock posted 46 while Brittany Soucek came in with a 52. Marilyn Moore shot a 59 while Megan Thomas posted a 63 without her favorite pitching wedge. Ft. Pierce Central only had 2 golfers and hence an incomplete score. Vero Beach record is now 7-3 and Jensen Beach 11-3.
